Marriage Not Dating: Episode 16 Final » Dramabeans Korean Drama Recaps

This drama made me laugh, even cry a little and made me care for many of the characters. Ki-tae and Jang-mi are so good and so cute together, and I only can agree, the family aspect in this drama is one of its strongest angles. And because I didn’t get to comment on it in the last recap, I still love, love, LOVE the moment between Kitae and his mother on the phone and the ones here between KiTae’s mom, aunt and halmoni. I love how much this show emphasised the importance of family.

Han Groo did a great job as Jang-mi too. Her movements are always so dramatic yet still somewhat natural at the same time. Looking forward to see her future projects for sure.

I love this show and I hope that those who haven’t seen it yet will give it a try. It would be unfortunate to miss out on MND because its the best rom-com I’ve seen in years – that includes YFAS. I’ll miss it, but endings like these make me feel like they all exist in the world I live, just that maybe I won’t get to see them onscreen anymore. That makes me feel better actually, which in turn makes me feel delusional LOL.

I super loved that Mom, Grandma, and Aunt were equally thrilled about staying together and giving Dirtbag the boot. Especially in the context of Korean family values. I would’ve liked to have seen Jang Mi and Ki Tae’s Mom enjoying a newfound bond with one another on this ep. (because I was even more invested in their relationship than in the OTP’s, and just wanted that well-earned pay-off), but I’m satisfied knowing that they’re ready to enjoy that bond now. Well, Jang-mi took the words right out of my mouth – their wedding was so perfectly “them!

Many singles have given up dating altogether as it is just too exhausting! However, many singles are looking for serious, deeper and more authentic encounters and a long-term relationship. The key to this new demand for authenticity is through words. Yes, even in the instant world of online dating, words are what really count.

She is in some ways like Jang Mi too, esp. in the dating area. 😉
I’ll always remember her as Jang Mi, just like everyone who watched Girl K remembers her as Girl K. I can probably carry on, but I’ll stop lol.

Three Siblings Bravely ( Episode 49

It did a tremendous job of showcasing that even if they’re dysfunctional and you’re not close to them – your family still shapes you into who you are in a big way. It was wonderful seeing the love between the women in KiTae’s family and seeing his father get his comeuppance and Mom get her fire back. Just like how JangMi’s parents made a scene at the hospital while making up – seeing that made me realize that she got her “scene-making” ways from them. It’s too bad, because had they remained the strict clever twists on expectation, they would’ve been the show’s crowning cap. I do like that the writer was clearly experimenting and pushing the boundaries of that device; the results just weren’t always in my wheelhouse. At least the finale went out on the kind of cold open I had loved early on.

Marriage, Not Dating Episode 1

So I’m quite satisfied and pleased about that. Loved the scene between grandma, aunt and mom. Crying and hugging each other, leaving cheating dad gobsmacked whilst they celebrate living together hahaha. Loved how Ki-tae’s mom stands up for Jang-Mi at the wedding by telling the in-laws that dad’s stupid gf can now do those duties she used to do, and definitely not Jang-mi! Yeon Woo Jin is so damn charming in the show, so much so that I wanna get a Ki-tae myself.

Jang-mi says in voiceover that in life, the worst things happen during the best times, but you can get through life because the best things also come with the worst. Ki-tae and Jang-mi enjoy a candlelit bubble bath together the night before their wedding. They reminisce over all the key points of their relationship, teasing and joking adorably. Mom argues back with a wibbly voice that yeah, she’s sick, and so is everyone else here, but the other patients tell them to continue because this is more riveting than a drama (ha). Dad asks haltingly if he can stay with her, but Mom is stubborn and tries to give the bankbook back.

And by the way, what with Jang-Mi’s mom, yikes!! Protecting yourself to the point that you shut out everyone and everything may be a safe way to live, but it’s not a happy way to live. He had to learn that while you may get hurt if you reach out to others, you also may gain immeasurable happiness, and that’s worth possibly experiencing some heartbreak in the process. Absolved of guilt, Ki-tae asks what Jang-mi is hiding, and she tells him she only paid Yeo-reum for his part of the bar since he’s leaving. The busybody Gong ladies, who have been complaining about everything, now take offense that the family’s only heir is marrying a bar owner.

Mom asks for the house, and invites Grandma and Mi-jung to live with her not as in-laws, but as friends. The women are as touched as Dad is horrified, and they all hug again leaving Dad out in the cold. He hands her a bankbook which shows a balance of over 50 million won (around $50,000) which he https://datingupdates.org got from the sale of the chicken stand. She’s touched that he sold the place she hated so much, but holds onto her pride and says she’s glad she got sick, because he finally left after she was ill. He yells that he never wanted a divorce, and he’s angry that she didn’t tell him she was sick.
